The annual Rivers Alive, Gordon County 4H and New Echota Rivers Alliance river cleanup will be held on November 23rd at 4:00 PM. We will meet at the Gordon County Extension Office, 1 McDaniel Station Road, Calhoun, GA. We will leave the Extension Service and go to the boat ramp at Hwy. 136 (River St.) and the Oostanaula River. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Should you have a kayak, canoe or boat please bring it and you can pickup trash from the river. In 2007 31,000 volunteers across the state of Georgia contributed over 76,000 hours and collected over 709,000 pounds of garbage. More than 2,200 miles of waterways were cleaned. Please join us on Nov. 23rd for this great event.
